CTS Manager (Blood-Bank Manager) is a multi-user, client / server blood bank management information system that monitors all typical blood bank activities. This system meets current requirements of continuous and upward development of the European medical system, emphasizing transfusion security and technical development. By efficiently controlling all medical parameters as well as stocks, CTS Manager improves the quality of blood bank services in compliance with European standards.

The main feature of CTS Manager is efficient donor management, blood and blood by-product tracking, blood requirements. An important feature of our solution is the "electronic tracking" of donors during their entire visit to the blood bank, one of the donor identification possibilities being through picture ID. The donor picture history is kept on the database server.

The application also supports electronic donor records, allowing the real time tracking of a donor’s history. Medical transfusion security is achieved through automatic blocking of un-satisfactory donors that fail to meet existing medical norms and standards.

A subject's integration in the transfusion system allowed only after extensive testing and validation by medical staff. All the medical / donor data can be securely accessed at any time. In order to avoid human error, donor validation can only be done by specialized staff, and donor identification is done using a bar coding system. Basic medical testing parameters such as blood group are entered into the information system only after a second validation in the system is done. Records of the types of substances used for the mandatory blood tests are kept in the database for medical as well as economic reasons.

Accurate stock tracking of available blood and blood by-products is a high system level priority ensuring immediate access and quick response to any request. Blood and blood by-products are validated by the system only if the products are in accordance with existing norms and standards of the National Transfusion Network, thus avoiding accidental usage of incompatible products.

The application also has a module for handling all the financial-accounting activities in a blood bank.
